Dr. Phillip Kemp

Dr. Phillip Kemp, DDS, AAACD, has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry in the Nashville area for over 30 years – opening his private practice in 1988 – with the goal to provide quality dentistry to his patients. His passion for dentistry flows from a heart that loves to help others look and feel their best so they can go and impact the world.

He serves as the President on the Board of Dentistry for the State of Tennessee and  developed Hope Restore—an elective teaching program at UT Memphis where students learn cosmetic dentistry, advanced dental techniques, and practice management skills. He introduced this same program to Meharry where he works with students serving the underserved. Under these programs, students serve those in need while gaining much needed experience in the practice of dentistry.

Dr. Kemp is the founder of Hope Smiles, a nonprofit dental organization that provides care for people in underserved areas in the US, Uganda, China and Haiti. These services are made possible through generous community and private financial support, donated materials and volunteer dental professionals.

Hope Smiles has organized many dental serve trips to China, Uganda, Haiti, and local and rural areas throughout Tennessee, Texas, and Washington D.C. In China, Uganda and Haiti, most of the care occurs in orphanages and care centers for very poor and underserved.

A native Middle Tennessean, Dr. Kemp lives in Brentwood with his wife of over 35 years, Rhonda, and their four children – Tyler, Nolan, Peyton and Macy Li. He loves hunting, coaching, photography, and spending time with his family.
